As usual, we set out in September for a corporate tourist teambuilding event. This year we went to Austria and the Czech Republic and Germany. This time we did not completely follow the highest mountains, but we had at least Grossglockner within sight.
On Friday we arrived at the Wallackhaus in the Hohe Tauern National Park along the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße Alpine Road. The weather was nice and only the way here was a great experience thanks to the beautiful views. On Saturday we divided into two groups and set out on a hike under the highest mountain of our southern neighbors. The first group chose a longer and even more challenging route over the top of Spielmann mountain, where we welded at an altitude of 3027 meters. On the ridges we waded in the snow in places, but the sun and the view of the alpine panorama gave us the necessary energy to climb 1403 and descend 1752 meters of altitude on a route nearly 20 km long. We shared the other half of the journey with the other group. We watched the melting Pasterze glacier and enjoyed the view of the Grossglockner from the viewpoint of the Kaiser Franz Josefs Höhe. In the evening we evaluated the trip together as very successful and we have already speculated where we will go again next year.
